He's a real magician, this Gert Weber.

A long, long time ago he built us a large, comfortable coffee table out of seemingly unbreakable glass and silver chromiumplated steel – and I thought: amazingly functional, beautiful, substantial. And a touch expensive, too.

In the meantime, however, this piece of furniture has miraculously grown to be our focus. It binds the place together and creates harmony. No champagne glass is too exquisite for this tolerant table; no pile of newspapers too banal; no dictionary too heavy.

Weber’s masterpiece can take on anything.
And will probably outlive us all.
